Mit einem krönenden Abschluss in Phase II – so lässt sich das PLASTECO Infoevent auf der Kanu Slalom WM Augsburg vom 21.7. bis 31.7.2022 zusammenfassen.
Ausschlaggebend für Teilnahme von PLASTECO am Event waren zum einen die Pilotierung des Augsburger Bechers auf der WM selbst und bei den zugehörigen Events in der Innenstadt, aber auch der Fokus der Veranstaltung auf Nachhaltigkeit und Müllreduzierung.
Der Augsburger Becher und dessen Einführung ist fester Bestandteil des PLASTECO Action-Plans, dessen Umsetzung innerhalb des nächsten Jahres in Augsburg erfolgen soll. Am Stand konnten sich die Besucher über die Hintergründe zum Becher informieren und außerdem Feedback abgeben.
Bei der Planung der Kanu Slalom WM Augsburg wurde Nachhaltigkeit großgeschrieben. So waren neben dem Augsburger Becher auch Mehrwegbecher für Kaffee im Einsatz und es wurde bei der Verpflegung auf Einweg-Plastik verzichtet. Am Stand von PLASTECO wurden die Besucher außerdem zusammen mit Forum Plastikfreies Augsburg und Precious Plastic über den Augsburger Becher, plastikfreie Alternativen und die Wichtigkeit der Mülltrennung informiert und aufgeklärt. Dazu waren am Stand verschiedene Ausstellungsstücke, eine Foto-Galerie sowie verschiedene Spiele ausgestellt.
Der Stand war durchwegs gut besucht und es konnten viele Interessante Gespräche mit den Standbesuchern geführt werden. Für das Projekt PLASTECO war das Event ein voller Erfolg und Phase II kann nun kommen.

The decisive factor for PLASTECO's participation in the event was the first pilot test phase of the Augsburg cup at the World Championship and the associated events in the city centre, but also the focus of the event on sustainability and waste reduction.
The Augsburg cup and its introduction is an integral part of the PLASTECO Action Plan, which is to be implemented in Augsburg within the next year. At the booth, visitors could find out more about the cup and its background as well as give feedback about it.
Sustainability was a top priority when planning the Canoe Slalom World Championships in Augsburg. In addition to the Augsburg cup, reusable cups for coffee were used and disposable plastic was banned in the catering. At the PLASTECO booth, visitors were also informed and enlightened about the Augsburg cup, plastic-free alternatives and the importance of waste separation together with Forum Plastikfreies Augsburg (plastic free Augsburg) and Precious Plastic. Various exhibits, a photo gallery and funny little games were also part of the booth to educate the visitors and show the impact of plastic pollution. The booth was very well attended and there were many interesting and educational conversations. The event was a complete success for the PLASTECO project and we are so ready for phase II now.
